 Champ “Desert Storm" Bradley Recognized

Timothy "Desert Storm" Bradley Jr. became the WBC Junior Welterweight Champion with a decision over fan favorite Junior "Hitter" Witter. The bout was held in Nottingham England at the Trent FM Arena. Bradley used a 6th round knockdown to clinch the title. Bradley has been a 2 time National Amateur Champion but went into this fight as a little known fighter having most of his fights in California.
This CA news conference is one of the few he has held since his win in
England. He was given an award from the office of Roy Wilson and also a
proclamation from Congresswoman Mary Bono's Office. Palm Springs made
this Timothy Bradley Day with a plaque and ceremony. The room was
filled with family, Friends and fans. He spoke to the audience about
all the help he has had on this journey to the Championship. He told
the gathering how his parents have always been there for him along with
other family members. Several fans have followed his career and
expressed their congratulations for this great win. Even his High
School Principal, John Mendoza came to greet him. One fan told him that
now that he has won a championship, he will always be called “Champ“.
When asked what round he knew he could win the bout, Bradley said, “It
was in the 1st round.” Trainer, Joel Diaz told how they were all
crying in the final round after they realized he was going to win.
Bradley told the group that he is going to start training again next
week to keep his edge for his next fight. He told us that his managers
and trainers would decide who and when he would fight again, but likely
in 2 or 3 months. Thompson Boxing Promotions and Gary Shaw Productions
make a lot of decisions for him and have been impressed with his
ability since the beginning.
