If you have lived in the desert and not visited The Living Desert you
are really missing a great experience. True, The Living Desert is a
zoo, but it is much more than just a zoo, it is also a botanical garden
and education about the plants, trees, and animal life that live next
to us and around us in the desert.
The Living Desert is a gift to our community both for children and
adults. You can read books, and you can look at pictures of desert
plants, lifescapes and animals but they are hollow until you stand up
close and see them in their habitats right in front of your eyes. You
can see the flowers and fauna of the desert close up and personal ans
you have never really seen them before. At each exhibit The Living
Desert has interesting and meaningful information so that you can
understand not only what you are looking at, but also all about the
plants, animals and habits you are seeing directly in front of you.
