The Annenberg Theater was “Sizzling with FEVER,” the weekend of Feb. 13-15 as Lezlie Anders and Buddy Greco performed many of the songs that legendary Peggy Lee either wrote or made famous. The entire program was three years in the making. Greco arranged all the music and assembled a big band that was as “hot” as the music.

I have adored “the psychic extraordinaire” Sylvia Browne for at least 20 years. I read her very first book, “Adventures of a Psychic,” and have been hooked on the spirit world ever since. I dreamed of the day when I would meet her, and she would give me a reading that would include the words: “happy,” “healthy,” “successful” and the like. Sat., Jan. 31, Browne appeared at the Spotlight 29 Casino, and that was my opportunity to see her (fairly) close up. Unfortunately there would not be a reading for me. That was unfortunate because I felt positive that my grandmothers, both maternal and paternal, would know that I was there and they would contact me via Browne. Naturally. To insure that they would find me, I brought a rosary from one grandmother and a broach from the other.

Mixed martial arts fans and devotes from all across the Southwest, even Mexico, came out to see Apocalypse III. One man was going to leave as the Welter Weight Champion of the World. Along with the color and ceremony were 14 bouts each with two men in the cage fighting to show their stuff. Warriors were locked in combat. I personally enjoyed it all. Well trained and fit fighters, beautiful ring girls, lots of muscles, testosterone and, of course, skill and daring. ApocalyspeFights.Com and Spotlight 29 sponsored the event along with a host of other sponsors. Fighters represented local training centers and a few, represented themselves.

Still unforgettable ... that's what Natalie Cole is! To see and listen to this dynamic chanteuse on stage is an experience of breathtaking, classic, elegance. To watch her perform, you would never know that Natalie Cole has just recently recovered from a very intense health challenge, battling the effects of hepatitis C that almost took her from us a little more than one year ago.

The Kennel Club of Palm Springs held one of the largest dog shows in the United States here in our beautiful Coachella Valley this weekend at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA. Thousands of spectators were in attendance at the Empire Polo Club grounds. The reported lower attendance of breeders and handlers that was talked about was not apparent to those of us who were there.  There were the most excellent examples of each breed represented at this huge show with a huge crowd of people from all over the United States.
