The Frank Sinatra Starkey Hearing Foundation Gala is dedicated to the memory and music of Frank Sinatra and benefits Barbara Sinatra Children's Center at Eisenhower Medical Center. Barbara is shown here being kissed by Master of Ceremonies Tom Dreesen and actor Dick Van Dyke. Starting around 6 p.m. Saturday, the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa in Indian Wells rolled out the red carpet for celebrities, loyal sponsors and gracious guests such as, Pat Boone, the Gatlin Brothers, Justin Osmond, Dick Van Dyke, Peter Marshall, Deana Martin, John Griffeth, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Austin, Tom Dreesen, Elke Sommer, Jerry Vale, Frankie Randall, Joe Mantegna, Dennis Farina, William Devane and others. All came to enjoy an evening of music and memories of the beloved Frank Sinatra.

The Palm Springs Women in Film and Television (PSWIFT) hosted the "Oscar Night Sunday Gala” on Sun. Feb. 22. The Gala was held at the Hyatt Grand Champion Resort Ballroom in Indian Wells. This was the only officially sanctioned local gala for the awarding of the Oscars at the 81st Academy Awards Ceremony.

The 21st Annual Frank Sinatra Golf Gala Event is held each year in February. This yearn it was held Feb. 19-21. The guys get to play golf for two days on a great golf courses at the Indian Wells Country Club, one on Friday and one on Saturday so they get to play a different course each day. There is usually a celebrity with each foursome on the course. Sometime they are lucky and get two celebrities on their round such as Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack and her husband Congressman Connie Mack. Mary has been one of the celebrities who has played in this tournament for several years and Connie has joined her for the last couple years. They both believe in the work Barbara Sinatra's charity does to help physically and emotionally abused children free of charge. Most of the celebrities playing are friends of the tournament and continue to support this cause year after year. Barbara Sinatra, Fe Zandi and model Robin Paige are shown above.

Barbara Sinatra herself and comedic actor Dick Van Dyke attended.

The Palms Springs Modern Committee held its annual PS Mod Com Bash on Valentines Day, Fri., Feb. 14. The party was held at a private Palm Springs residence. Searchlights showed the way to the home. Two men in drag greeted the partygoers as they arrived. Beads and Valentine candy adorned the tables by the pool. Small, square flashing lights surrounded the pool and were on the tables too.

Love was in the air Saturday night, Feb. 14, as the beautiful, talented and statuesque chanteuse, Marilyn McCoo took command of the stage at Spotlight 29 with her very talented, dapper husband and singing partner of 40 years, Billy Davis, Jr. It was as if no time has passed for this talent-filled duo. Their songs evoked a sense of nostalgia and joy for the packed audience.
